Pensare a cosa disegnare per il tema settimanale di Illustration Friday, metropolis, non è stato facile. Le metropoli sono spazi immensi, dove i ritmi di tutti i giorni sono triplicati, velocizzati all'ennesima potenza: diventa difficile soffermarsi su un unico accadimento, dato che si intrecciano moltissime storie. Allora ho pensato ad un punto di vista esterno e (da brava amante della calma e dei momenti zen) lontano dalla confusione. Ho cercato di trasmettere qualcosa di profondo e trasognante allo stesso tempo: un'adolescente, il cui più grande desiderio è visitare la metropoli per eccellenza, la grande mela: New York. Nel frattempo la troviamo che sogna ad occhi aperti nella sua stanza...

"Metropolis" was definitely an hard theme to think about. Metropolis are such wide spaces, where everything goes fast, and you can't focus on one single situation: there are bunch of stories which gets entangled in one another. So, what about an external point of view, from the outside? I wanted to add something deep and dreamy at the same time: so I though of a young teen who's greatest desire is to visit the Metropolis for excelence: New York. In the meanwhile she daydreams in her room, looking at the posters and pictures hung there.
